Sportsman's Days - September 8-9, 2023

 

Sportsman's Days provides a great time of community fellowship and fun which draws in visitors to Naches from around Central Washington.

The event will be held in Downtown Naches at the Historic Depot Park.

Sportsman’s Days is one of the longest running community day events in the Yakima Valley. The event features free entertainment throughout the weekend along with a midway, rides, food booths, game booths, silent auction, button drawings, free shows and much more. The event kicks off on Friday night at 5 pm when the midway opens.

The event is presented by the Naches Lions Club and the Naches Sportsman's Days Association.

KID’S PARADE - The Kids’ Parade leads off our Grand Parade starting at about 10:00 am. on Saturday. Rewards and ride tickets will be available for all kids in the Kids’ Parade.  Prior registration is not required.  Call 509-881-0007 if you have any questions or need more information. The parade route is about ½ mile long. Assemble at Intermediate School on Shafer Ave.

GRAND PARADE - The Grand Parade, featuring community floats, cars, trucks, horses, bands and drill teams starts at 10:10 am. on Saturday, preceded by the Kids’ Parade at 10:00am. Entries are encouraged to register early by filling out the online form (linked above), sending it in, or calling 509-895-9295. Registration desk will be at 24 Shafer Ave. All entries must be in place by 9:40am.

FISHING DERBY - The fishing derby, with live fish, will be from 3:00-4:30pm on Saturday for all fishermen between the ages of 4-12 years old. It will be on the ditch bank just down from the Gazebo in town.  Bring your own bait and pole. Prizes will be awarded. Call 509 972 8640 for more information. Buy a button and fish!

LIP SYNC CONTEST - The Lip Sync contest takes place on the midway stage from 5:00-7:00pm on Saturday. Three age groups: 8 & under, 9-12, 13 & up.

Money prizes will be awarded to winners in each division. The contest is open to everyone who registers by Saturday by 3:30pm at the Lions Bank near the stage. Buy a button and sing!

BUTTON DRAWINGS - There will be lucky number Sportsman’s Days button drawings throughout the two days for cash and other prizes. The Sportsman’s Days buttons may be purchased at local businesses, from Naches Lions Club members or at the Sportsman’s Days event. Drawings will be hourly with numbers posted at the Lions Bank. Large cash prizes and all unclaimed hourly drawing prizes will be drawn near closing Saturday night. Saturday’s cash prize is $500!

10:00am Kids Parade (assemble at Intermediate School on Shafer Ave.)
10:10am GRAND PARADE in Naches. Registration table will be in front of the Administration Building at 24 Shafer Ave.
Noon Event opens (booths, food, games, hourly drawings)

Bouncy Houses & Games all day
Noon Bingo for $ sponsored by the Naches Lions Club.
Noon LIVE MUSIC throughout the day - Gin Mill Preacher followed by The Cowboy Balladeer - Mike Ewing
12:00-5:00pm Sunshine Lions Club Silent Auction
1:00pm Hourly Button Drawings begin
2:00- 2:30pm Greased pole on midway. Open to all ages.
3:00-4:30pm Kid’s Fishing Derby (Ages 4-12 years old)
3:30pm Deadline for registration for Lip Sync Contest
5:00-7:00pm LIP SYNC CONTEST. Register at Lions Bank by 3:30 pm with music download or CD. $300 IN PRIZES. Free to watch but need a Sportsman’s Days Button to participate.
7:00-10:00pm  DJ Dance party @ Pepsi stage
9:00pm Final Snowball of Cash Drawing
