Nile Valley Days is held at Jim Sprick Community Park during the third full weekend
in July of each year. The weekend is packed
with fun family activities: Many vendors with hand-crafted items,
displays, kid’s games, live entertainment, black-powder demonstrations, horseshoe tournaments,
gold prospecting demonstrations. Come join us for a weekend of fun-filled events and old-fashioned competition as well as great music and food at Jim Sprick Community Park.
Food vendors include corn on the cob and freshly baked pies!
A highlight of the day is the amateur wood events
including the cross-cut saw, wood-splitting, and axe
throw.
The action begins both days at 7:00am with a mountain breakfast put on by the Nile-Cliffdell Firefighters Association. At 8:45am we will have the flag-raising ceremony. By 9:00 am there are lots of activities starting like the new and improved “KIDS CORNER” filled with games & prizes.
Check out the scrumptious elephant ears, which are served all day. The hamburger and hot dog booths will open at 10:00am on both days serving fantastic hamburgers, hotdogs, brats and sweet corn-on-the-cob. A fine selection of delicious pies and cobblers can be found at the Nile Women’s Club booth.
And while you’re there be sure to get a $1.00 raffle ticket for that beautiful quilt! Don’t forget to top it all off with tasty ice cream from the Youth Group’s booth. You won’t want to miss the horseshoes and axes flying so come both days.
